As part of ongoing efforts to provide a more inclusive and supportive user experience, we are delighted to share that the HRC website now includes assistive technology.
An estimated 13 million people in the UK have a disability which may prevent them from reading online content easily. By installing Recite Me accessibility and language tools on our website, we are enabling visitors to customise their digital experience. Users who struggle with decreased vision, learning difficulties, literacy, language or linguistic problems, attention disorders and physical disabilities can now access and understand content in the best way for them.
The toolbar includes a wide range of features such as screen reading functionality, multiple reading aids, styling options and an on-demand live translation feature that incorporates over 100 languages, including 65 via ‘text-to-speech’. You can find out more about the functionality of the tools by reading our user guide here.

Try out the new accessibility features on our website by clicking ‘Accessibility & Translation’ at the top of each page, or the person icon which is displayed in the left-hand toolbar on desktop devices, and at top of the screen when viewed on a mobile phone.
