How We Support Local Schools
At HRC, we are proud of our strong relationships with schools both in our local area and further afield. We work closely with key contacts within schools such as headteachers, heads of year and careers advisors to provide information, advice, guidance and opportunities for young people in our community.
Our Schools Liaison Officer is responsible for ensuring that HRC helps our local schools to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks – a framework of standards for world-class careers guidance for young people in England – and adhere to the Baker Clause, an amendment to the Technical and Further Education Act 2017.
We offer a range of school activities, suitable for students ranging from Year 8 through to Year 13, to help inspire their future career pathways post-GCSE.
What We Can Offer Your School
We provide information on the range of technical and vocational qualifications available to young people at Hertford Regional College, including study programmes, T Levels, apprenticeships and university-level courses (also known as higher education).
At Your School
We are regularly invited to attend events and activities on school premises, including the following:
Assemblies
We attend school assemblies to talk to your students about college life, the courses on offer and to hold question-and-answer sessions with students.
Careers Fairs
If you are hosting a careers fair, our team can provide students with information on the alternative pathways that we offer.
Mock Interviews
A number of schools we work with run mock interviews for their students to build confidence, develop communication skills, and prepare students for the workplace.
Bespoke Sessions
We can create bespoke sessions for your students based around the education and career options available within specific industries. Please contact us for further information.

Bitesize Taster Sessions
Primarily targeting Year 10 and 11 students, we offer practical taster sessions in subject areas chosen by you.
Campus Tours
Take a tour of our campuses to view our excellent facilities and the learning environment that we offer to our students.
Industry-Specific Talks
You may have a group of students who know which industry or career path they want to take, but would benefit from further information on which routes are available to them. Our industry-trained experts can deliver talks on our study programmes, T Levels, apprenticeships, and university level courses, helping your students to decide which pathway would best suit them.
