Home ยป Enrolment
Enrolment is the final step to becoming a student at Hertford Regional College and is required before you start your course.
During enrolment, we confirm the course you have applied for, check your qualifications and identity documents, complete some additional paperwork, and ensure that you are ready to begin your studies at HRC.
When you arrive on site, you will be greeted by a member of our team who will ask for your student number (which you can find on your offer letter, or on ProPortal) and take you to the Enrolment Centre.
You will be invited to discuss your enrolment options with the curriculum team, who will review your grades and help you to complete a Student Assessment Form. If you have not achieved GCSE level 4 in English and/or Maths, you will be advised of your potential options.
You will then be guided to speak to the Enrolment Centre Team who will check your personal details and qualifications, ask you to sign your Student Assessment Form, and enrol you on your course.
After completing enrolment, you will have your photo taken and be issued with a student ID badge and a โWelcome to HRCโ leaflet.
If you are a new student, you will be directed to our dedicated IT support offices to help you register your HRC account and set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which is required before you are able to access any other services or applications.
If you are a returning student and you still have access to your account and your MFA works, you don’t need to do anything.ย
Once you have completed these steps, you are fully enrolled at HRC!
Please note, during busy periods enrolment may take up to two hours to complete. If you arrive near to our closing time it may not be possible to complete your enrolment in a single day.

If you have already applied for a course, you should have received an email from us asking you to book an appointment to enrol. If you havenโt received an email, you can still drop in during enrolment (dates and opening times above).
You can apply now, either online or by visiting the relevant campus. Our Customer Services team will be happy to guide you through the application process. Once you have submitted your application you will be interviewed by curriculum staff, and if you meet the entry requirements, you should be able to enrol on the day.
Every student needs to bring their student number (you can find this on ProPortal and on your offer letter), a valid form of ID, such as a passport, birth certificate, or driving licence, as well as proof of qualifications (either results slips or certificates). In some circumstances you may also be asked to bring additional paperwork.
If you didnโt get the exam results you need to meet your offer conditions, or you have done better than expected, come in and talk to our team who will be happy to discuss alternative options with you.
The Autumn term starts on Monday 7th September 2026, but timetables are different depending on which course you are studying and a number of other factors. Once you have enrolled, you will be able to see your timetable in the MyHRC app.
