Entry Requirements
  • Students must have achieved 3 GCSE’s including Mathematics and English at Grade 3.
  • A keen interest in science and technology is essential.
  • An initial assessment may be conducted to ensure suitability for the course.


Students enrolled in the T level Foundation will explore core topics in biology, chemistry and physics. They will engage in hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and practical applications of scientific principles. The course includes units such as Chemistry and Our Earth, Energy and Our Universe, Biology and Our Environment. Additionally, students will gain employability skills, including time management, communication, and teamwork, to prepare for careers in science and technology-related industries.

Assessment will be conducted through a portfolio of evidence, ensuring students meet the required learning outcomes. The portfolio may include:

  • Practical experiments and laboratory reports
  • Research projects
  • Written assignments and presentations
  • Observations of practical skills
  • Self-reflection and peer assessments Each unit will be graded at Pass, Merit, or Distinction level based on achievement criteria.

 

  • A scientific calculator
  • Notebook and stationery
  • Lab coat and safety goggles (provided by the college if needed)
  • A USB drive or access to cloud storage for coursework
  • Any additional materials required for specific practical sessions (to be advised by tutors)

Students will have opportunities to engage in a variety of enrichment activities, including:

  • Industry placements in scientific, engineering, and healthcare settings
  • Guest lectures from professionals in STEM fields
  • Visits to science and technology museums or research institutions
  • Participation in STEM-related competitions and projects
  • Team-building activities to enhance problem-solving and communication skills

 

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for further education, apprenticeships, or entry-level careers in science and technology fields.
