This nationally recognised NCFE Level 4 Award is designed for experienced assessors, trainers and education professionals who are ready to quality assure assessment practice and support consistent, fair and valid assessment decisions across a centre or organisation.
Course delivery: This is a one-year, part-time course delivered through online and blended learning. The next cohort starts on 7 September 2026 at Broxbourne Campus.
Unit 01 – Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment.
This unit develops your knowledge and understanding of the principles, practices and responsibilities involved in internally assuring the quality of assessment.
Unit 02 – Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment.
This unit develops your competence in planning sampling activity, monitoring assessor practice, providing feedback and maintaining the quality of assessment decisions within a centre or organisation.
Aligned to NCFE requirements, this award supports you to develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to maintain and improve the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre. You will explore how to plan internal quality assurance activity, sample assessment evidence, monitor assessor performance, provide developmental feedback and contribute to standardisation and continuous improvement.
On successful completion, you will be equipped to carry out internal quality assurance activities confidently and professionally, helping to strengthen assessment standards, support assessors and improve learner outcomes.
