Are you working in education, childcare, or a caring role and looking to deepen your understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN)? The Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Special Educational Needs is designed to help you build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to support children, young people, and adults with a wide range of needs.

This qualification is ideal for those working or volunteering in schools, further education, early years settings, youth services, or community organisations. It’s particularly well suited to Teaching Assistants, SEN Support Workers, and those supporting learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in mainstream settings who want to enhance their practice and progress within the sector.

  • Blended delivery, combining online learning, face to face tutorial sessions and independent study.

What you’ll need

  • Notebook, pen, and folder
  • Access to a computer or tablet for research and assignments
  • All core learning resources and handouts are provided
  • Level 2 literacy and numeracy skills
  • A clear DBS is required for anyone working directly with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
  • Funding options available for learners earning under ยฃ26,000 per annum
2026/27 fees for this course are currently ยฃ795 but may be subject to change. Please enquire as to the current fees when applying.
