The NOCN Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry for Craft Bricklayers Diploma is an industry-recognised qualification designed for learners who want to develop advanced bricklaying skills and progress their career within the construction industry.

You’ll build on your existing knowledge through a combination of practical workshop activities and classroom-based learning, developing the technical skills and confidence required by employers. The programme is delivered over two days per week at college, alongside a minimum of one day per week in an industry work placement with an employer, giving you valuable hands-on experience and helping you develop the skills, behaviours and professionalism expected in the workplace.

This qualification can lead to skilled employment, supervisory roles or progression to higher-level construction qualifications.

You will develop advanced practical skills and technical knowledge in:
โ€ข Constructing complex masonry structures
โ€ข Decorative and feature brickwork
โ€ข Sustainable construction practices
โ€ข Construction communication, quantities and costing
โ€ข Health and safety within the construction industry
โ€ข Advanced bricklaying techniques used in industry

You’ll work on realistic projects in industry-standard workshops designed to prepare you for employment in the construction sector.

Assessment takes place through a mixture of:

โ€ข Practical workshop assessments
โ€ข Project-based assignments
โ€ข Observed practical tasks
โ€ข Knowledge questions
โ€ข Online health and safety assessments

You’ll demonstrate your skills through realistic construction projects that reflect industry standards.

You will need:

โ€ข Safety boots
โ€ข Mandatory workwear and PPE
โ€ข Writing materials

Any specialist equipment requirements will be discussed at enrolment

Successful completion of a Level 2 Bricklaying qualification; or Attendance at a formal interview and skills assessment prior to enrolment.
