On this course you will be working to recognised industrial standards and will gain crucial underpinning knowledge and skills to prepare you for a career as a plasterer.  HRC works closely with key employers in the local area to support not only an oustanding training facility but also progressive routes into employment.

Designed for those who wish to pursue a career in plastering and who are not currently working in the industry.

Units include:

  • understanding how to carry out safe work practices
  • introduction to building methods
  • introduction to construction technology
  • introduction into preparing background surfaces
  • introduction to plaster materials
  • constructing stud walling
  • flooring and tiling
  • patch repairs in plasterboard walls

You will have the opportunity to work on many live projects including various community projects and benefit from site visits, industry talks and demonstrations from experts. Learners will also be given the opportunity to obtain a CSCS card here at the college.

In addition to the above, a minimum of 30 hours work experience will be required to complete the course. This key factor further supports employment into the construction industry.
