Designed for those who have completed our Introduction to Pattern Cutting short course, this course will give you the creative skills to use your bodice block to design and make 1-2 garments, specifically tailored to you! This could include, but is not limited to: tops, shirts, or dresses / skirts for students keen to make a full ‘look’.

There is also opportunity for more advanced learners to add textile or embellishment to their designs, this can be discussed with your tutor on commencing the course.
Please note we are currently unable to offer the making of trousers, or sportswear on this course.

Please bring the following with you to the course: note/sketch book, pencils, pins, dressmaking shears, PatternMaster, and tailors chalk. 

Students will also need to provide their own woven (non stretch) fabric. 

Optional extras: embroidery thread, beads.

The course takes place in our fashion studios with access to industrial and domestic sewing machines, with advantages that both machines offer. It is useful but not essential to have access to a sewing machine at home.

This couse is designed for those who have completed our Introduction to Pattern Cutting short course.  

If you have not completed our Introduction to Pattern Cutting course but have experience in drafting a made to measure block, direct entry will be considered following an informal interview.

ยฃ180 for the 10 week block.

Pattern paper, card and midweight calico are included in the course fee.

This course is scheduled on a Thursday evening, 19:00 – 21:00, at our Ware Campus.

This course is suitable for adults and students aged 16+ (school year 12 and above).

All our Art & Design short courses and workshops run subject to reaching minimum numbers.  In the event we are unable to run the course/workshop you are booked on to, you will be offered a space on an alternative course or a full refund of the course fee.

We endeavour to remove our courses from the website once they are full, in the unlikely event you are able pay for a course/workshop that is full, you will be offered a space on an alternative course or a full refund of the course fee.
