Discover the joys of Cyanotype in this five-week course designed for both beginners and intermediates. Throughout the workshop, you’ll learn to create rich, Prussian-blue prints on both paper and fabric while experimenting with a wide range of hands-on techniques.
Each week introduces new tools, surfaces, and creative approaches. Participants will work with found objects, natural textures, and botanical materials, as well as learn how to create and print from acetate transparencies and paper masks to develop layered, expressive compositions. We’ll explore coating methods, toning options, and ways to push the cyanotype process beyond traditional imagery.
By the end of the five weeks, you will have built a small collection of cyanotype prints on multiple surfaces and gained the confidence to continue experimenting independently. You can apply these to other crafts – creating greetings cards, collages, making zip pouches, scrunchies- whatever you like! All materials are provided, though participants are encouraged to bring personal objects, textures, or imagery they’d like to incorporate. Anything flat & semi-transparent is effective!
