This multi-skilled route ensures that on completion you will have gained practical experience, knowledge and understanding and have some expectation of the situations that you could face in a role within the engineering sector. You will study units from Engineering Techniques to Engineering Environmental Awareness. You will also need to study english and maths and achieve a grade 5 if you wih to continue onto the T-Level

What will I be doing?

This course has a mix of applied theory and practical content and aims to provide training in the skills needed to work in a wide range of engineering fields.You will study units such as Fabrication and Welding Principles and Understanding Computer Aided Drawing (CAD).

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by a series of college set assignments, carried out progressively during the programme.

What do I need to bring?

You must provide your own boots and overalls.You may be required to purchase a recommended text book.

Entry Requirements

You will need at least 2 GCSE at grade 4, which must include English and maths.
You will also need to have a keen interest and aptitude for following a career in the Engineering sector.

Fee information

Free to those under 19 on 31st August 2025. If you are 19 or over on 31st August 2025, have been a permanent resident in the EU for the last 3 years and are a fee paying new entrant, you will pay approx. £1500 tuition fee for a Level 2 qualification and approx. £3000 for a Level 3 qualification (these were the fees for 2014/25 and could be subject to change ). .You may also be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable. Added Extras

As a full time student you will have the chance to take part in additional activities, including sports, alongside your main programme.

What can I do next?

On successful completion of this course you can become a Technical Engineer, alternatively it may enable you to progress onto the T-Level, depending on your GCSE grades.
