Our Community & School Liaison Officer

At HRC, we are proud of our strong relationships with our local communities. We work closely with schools and community partners to provide information, guidance and opportunities for the people in our local area.

We offer a range of school events, suitable for students from Year 8 through to Year 13, to help inspire students’ future career pathways, post GCSE’s. We also support adult learners with information, advice and guidance on opportunities that can develop and support their career journey and aspirations.

Community and Schools Liaison Officer

Our Community and Schools Liaison Officer establishes and maintains partnerships with our local schools, as well as ensuring we are an engaged and supportive part of our local community. If you would like to find out more about how HRC can support your school or community project please contact us.

Working with Local Schools

Schools are welcome to bring students into the college for an information session. In these sessions, students can find out what college life is really like through our impartial advice, information and guidance.

Our Schools Liaison Officer works closely with our local schools to ensure that all young people in our community are equipped with all the information that they require in order to make informed, positive choices regarding their future studies.

How we support our local schools

  • Providing information on what HRC can offer regarding Further Education, post-16 studies, over a wide range of subject areas.
  • Explaining the various study routes available to young people, including Study Programmes, T-Levels, Apprenticeships and Higher Education.
  • Working with Careers leads and advisors to help shape the career paths of young people through the various education pathways that HRC can offer.
  • Ensuring that HRC support our local schools with Gatsby Benchmarks and the Baker Clause policy.

How we support our local community:

  • Attending events hosted by our local council, LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership), HOP (Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal) and Services for Young People.
  • Attending local jobs fairs
  • Having a presence at local community events
  • Supporting charities that would like to involve HRC with a campaign or event
  • Attending round-table discussions and supporting employers and charities

We have existing partnerships with a number of local community groups and are always keen to hear about new community projects or events that we can be involved in.
